This is probably one of the most important things to remember
when developing an application. Tools are only useful if the
person using the tools understands how the tools function in
order to best utilize them. This is why BBSysco has chosen to
adopt an open source policy for MSB. It is our philosophy that by
allowing a developer access to the tools they are using, they
will be able to improve the capabilities of their application.
Having access to the source allows developers to fully utilize
the software by knowing exactly how it will function and perform.
There is no need to rely on external sources to investigate and
resolve problems. In addition, open source provides the
opportunity of a collaborative development environment within the
Business Basic community. This will encourage programmers (old
& new) to consider Business Basic as a platform of choice.
Our goal is to provide developers with the knowledge and the
tools they need so that they in turn can better address the needs
of their clients. An open source solution allows us to do this.
